Recipes and Cooking Tips: Paicines Ranch offers free range 100% grass-fed beef and lamb

Recipes and Cooking Tips

There are two things to remember when preparing grass fed beef. First, it is very lean, so it cooks faster than conventional beef. We recommend that you always use a meat thermometer, but it is especially important when you first start cooking with grass fed beef, or you will tend to overcook the meat. Second, it is especially flavorful when cooked low and slow. Think French dishes that simmer for extended periods of time, or roasts cooked slowly in the oven. In general, though, you should be able to use grass fed beef in any of your favorite beef dishes with a little experimentation.

There are also a large number of grass fed beef producers who have posted recipes on the web, most of which we have found to be excellent.

These are just a few recipes that we have gotten from our customers, developed ourselves, or gotten from chef Charles Vollmar at the Tempus clinic. If you have a recipe that you would like us to post, send it to us via email.
